10 Footballers Who Played For Both Barcelona And Real Madrid
3. Gheorghe Hagi
There aren't too many Romanian players who spring immediately to mind when you think of genuine world-class talents. Gheorghe Hagi is the one that does.
Hagi was a class act who enjoyed success with both Real and Barca. After lighting up the World Cup in 1994, it was Barcelona who made the move to sign one of the most talked-about players in world football at the time.
However, Hagi was no stranger to the Spanish game having spent time with Madrid between 1990 and '92, before strangely moving to Italy to play for Brescia.
Despite playing well for both clubs in separate two-year spells, Hagi failed to get his hands on any major honours for the Spanish duo.
This doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a mention on this list. He's still the most successful Romanian player of all-time and the one who is worshipped country-wide in his homeland.
