10 Glorious Scotland International Football Failures

2. Georgia 1-0 Scotland (4 September 2015)

This lot again?

Germany were always going to run away with this group, but the problem for Scotland in qualifying for Euro 2016 was that the Germans didn't steamroll everyone in front of them. Sure, they beat Scotland twice, but a surprising 2-0 defeat in Warsaw and a 94th minute John O'Shea equaliser in Gelsenkirchen gave Poland and Ireland a leg up in the races for 2nd and 3rd.

Scotland's campaign hadn't been too bad overall. A credible performance in Germany was followed by a good draw in Poland, a home win over the Irish, and then a 1-1 draw in Dublin in an admittedly terrible game of football, but it kept Scotland in the hunt.

Back to Georgia for a chance at redemption, Scotland put in as laughable a performance as they did eight years prior. Valeri Qazaishvili with the only goal as Georgia once again ruined qualifying.

There was still a chance, but a stupid goal conceded from a free kick in the 94th minute against Poland resulted in another 2-2 draw. Ireland's victory over Germany in Dublin the same night ended Scotland's hopes yet again.
