Jim Brown is considered by many to be the greatest ever to have played professional American football, with three NFL Most Valuable Player awards and nine Pro Bowl appearances to his name. At college he played both football and basketball, but it was playing lacrosse that he led Syracuse University to an undefeated season in 1957. He retired from the NFL at just 29 to crossover into a career as a film actor.
