10 Hardest Players In English Premier League History
7. Nemanja Vidic
“He comes from Serbia, he’ll f****n’ murder ya”
These lyrics are just the beginning of Nemanja Vidic's famed chant, representing his character immensely. Resembling the head from Art Attack to those looking from the outside, his head may have been just as hard but it was definitely nowhere near as hollow. This left some of us who viewed his intense performances - week in, week out - to ponder whether or not the aforementioned lyrics were taken from a real-life account of something that may have occurred in his life prior to Vidic's arrival at Manchester United.
Alas, he was not a murderer but he was a definite sociopath - on the pitch at least. Vidic was a man who would literally stick his head absolutely anywhere regardless of what the consequence entailed, managing to make us wince just as much as we cheered. Substantiated through multiple career-threatening injuries (a total of 10 to be exact) which would leave most people permanently sidelined, Vidic showed time and time again that determination, motivation and perseverance can be just as pivotal to a player as the level of the skill that they possess in general.
With 441 days of rest and recovery it's abundantly clear that the only thing Nemanja Vidic feared was letting his club down.
