10 Heaviest Hitters In The UFC Heavyweight Division Today

3. Derrick Lewis

The Black Beast is an extremely well-named fighter. Because Derrick Lewis is very much a beast once he gets in the octagon. Woe is anyone trapped in the cage with him. After all, Lewis is 11-3 in the UFC, and 20–5 (1) overall as a pro. He's also a former Legacy heavyweight champion.

While plenty of the fighters on this list are scary, few are as downright terrifying as Derrick Lewis. Once the cage door closes, Lewis very much becomes a beast: animalistic, all throat slash gestures and fists beating on chest. It's an imposing sight for opponents, no doubt. And with nine knockouts in those eleven aforementioned wins, Lewis finishes them more often than not.

With a style that's like a steam roller with fists, Lewis is anything but a refined mixed martial artist (though to his credit, he's added some nifty kicks to his arsenal of late). However, it doesn't seem to matter. Brute strength gets the job done.

The funny thing about it is, each and every one of his opponents knows exactly what's going to happen when they fight Lewis. His style is no big secret, after all. Yet still, they seem nearly helpless to avoid it, more often than not being pounded into the canvas.
