http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeUXdMFomb4 Sebastien Tortelli was on top of the world in 1999. In his first year in AMA competition he showed he would be a dominant force, winning both moto€™s at the opening round ahead of seasoned favourites such as McGrath and Windham. He was leading the series for much of the year before a crash at Unadilla put him out of the title race due to injury. However this crash came at the Motocross des Nations; a race which pitted the three best rider€™s from each nation against each other in a one day event over three races. The race became famous for various reasons. The American riders disgust at the outrageous way in which track workers turned the Indaiatuba circuit into a swamp; the shock win by the Italian team; Carmichaels incredible pace, but woeful luck. However, it will also be remembered for Tortelli€™s incredibly spectacular crash. One that you would expect would have left the Frenchman on the ground for a little longer€
