10 Most Brutal Motocross Crashes Of All Time

7. Mikael Pichon At The Atlanta Supercross, 1996

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHXHJTtonVA At this stage in his career, Mikael Pichon was the dominant force in 125cc East Coast Supercross. He was the reigning champion and in the points lead for the title that year. However, a slower rider down on the landing of a triple jump in Atlanta 1996 gave Pichon his most memorable, and spectacular, crash of his career. Pichon, in an interview with dirtrider.net, said: €œThe first thing that went through my mind when I jumped off the bike mid-air over that triple was that I was going to lose the championship. €œThe flagger was on the right side of the jump, and the downed rider was on the left side of the landing. Just as I was about to take off on the jump, the flagger waved the yellow flag. On the face of the jump, I saw the guy on the landing, so I chopped the throttle. The bike went into a nosedive, so I jumped off.€ Pichon somehow walked away from the incident and went on to win the title for the second year running.
