New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma was the first first man to fall during the 2012 Bounty Scandal which saw players offered big bonuses and cash incentives if they wiped out opponents from the game, with Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton among their top targets to be injured. Vilma was suspended for the entire season, while eight other colleagues were fined and suspended for varying lengths of time, including coach Sean Payton who was banned for the year.
