6. Plaxico Burress - Two Years (Length Of His Jail Term)
The tale of Plaxico Burress has got to be one of the strangest in NFL history after he was jailed for accidentally shooting himself in the leg. In 2008, the wide receiver had a Glock pistol in his pocket during a night out, and after feeling it slide further down, he reached to hoist it up again but pulled the trigger. His injuries were not severe but he turned himself into the police two days later and was eventually charged with illegally possessing the weapon along with reckless use of it. He was jailed for two years during which he was suspended from the league.
