10 Most Unique Sports You Won't Believe Exist

7. Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling

Yup, it's not just the Americans making a spectacle of food. Every year the village of Brockworth in Gloucestershire unofficially hosts a race down a steep hill for an 8lb wheel of cheese. Now the term 'race' needs to be taken fairly liberally here as it's not so much a modern day race as a pastoral struggle down a hill hoping that you don't do irreversible damage. The cheese itself can reach speeds of 70MPH and it doesn't have a spine to worry about.

Injuries were fairly commonplace and since 2010 the event became unsanctioned. This hasn't stopped people from all over the world coming to the small village to compete and the roll carries on to this day. In truth the Gloucestershire cheese rolling extravaganza may have less defence in being called a professional sport: it may not have the sponsorships or the sanctioning body or the television coverage, but damnit the winner gets a massive wheel of double Gloucester, the true breakfast of champions.
