10 Most Unpredictable Goalkeepers Of All Time

8. Jens Lehmann

The next two entries feature a pair of goalkeepers who were among the best in the world - but also prone to spurts of insatiable anger.

Jens Lehmann enjoyed a legendary career, winning domestic honours in England, Italy, and Germany, and being named in the 2006 World Cup All-Star Team.

Like many great keepers though, Lehmann was certainly unpredictable. While playing for Schalke, Lehmann was substituted at half-time for an abject performance against Bayern Leverkusen. Not content to watch the rest of the game from the dugout, Lehmann took the train home and was benched for the following 10 games.

Noted for his erratic behaviour, Lehman was sent off in 2003 after being involved in an altercation with teammate Marcio Amoroso while at Borussia Dortmund.

With a fierce desire to succeed, Lehmann was notorious for time-wasting to maintain leads - such as a game against Wigan in which he purposely lost the ball while retrieving it from behind his goal.

Lehmann also earned notoriety for a very public rivalry with a fellow German goalkeeper that has also done enough to earn his place on this list. When asked in an interview about why he and his international teammate didn't talk, Lehmann responded:

"I didn't know we were supposed to talk. I don't have a 24-year-old girlfriend. I have a different life."

Seems a little unnecessarily personal Jens...
