10 Player Spurs Shouldn't Have Got Rid Of

10. David Ginola

This is as far back as this article will go, as David Ginola's departure from White Hart Lane was way back in the year 2000. Having been named both PFA Players' Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year in 1999, and having been a key part of the team that won the League Cup in the same year, Spurs sold the French winger to Aston Villa for a mere £3 million. Despite being into his 33rd year, Ginola was still performing to a top standard in a Spurs shirt and described the decision to sell him as a "bombshell". Spurs should have kept him, got as much out of him on the pitch as they possibly could (seriously, he was fantastic) and continued to utilise him after his playing career had finished. A legend with the fans, Ginola was everything Spurs are known for - an entertainer with a flair-filled attacking style - and his footballing ethos should have been used to nurture the club's attacking youngsters.
