Now entering the winter of his playing career with Atletico Mineiro, Ronaldinho will always be remembered for the time he spent at Barcelona, where he became a club legend by scoring 70 goals in 145 appearances during a five-year spell with the Catalans. However, he will also be remembered for his failed move to AC MIlan in 2008. In 2006-07, Lionel Messi was starting to emerge as a first-team regular at the Nou Camp, just as Ronaldinho was closing in on a move to the San Siro. The two would spend only a brief time playing together, before the Brazilian completed his forgettable move to the Italian capital. After finding himself largely on the bench, and then making just 11 appearances in his final season at Milan, Ronaldinho later admitted he wished he had stayed at Barca for a few more seasons to play alongside Messi. He revealed:
'I would have loved to play with Messi for a longer period of time. We have a great friendship, but I regret not sharing more seasons with him'
