1. Andriy Shevchenko
Rebecca Naden/PA Archive/Press Association ImagesChelsea flop Andriy Shevchenko insisted recently that
he has no regrets over his very forgettable stay at the club, despite being a big-money failure. The Blues paid £30.8 million for the Ukrainian's services in May 2006 but were rewarded with just the nine Premier League goals in 47 appearances. Despite this, Schevchenko said:
"Living in London, where I felt really comfortable, brought some stability to my life. After that, in football terms, for sure I lost something there. My years at Chelsea were difficult - but ultimately beautiful."
The forward was loaned to Milan after just two seasons at Chelsea and returned for the 2009-19 campaign where he made just appearance before moving to Dynamo Kyiv. And he must have returned to his native Ukraine with regrets having failed to justify his price tag and cut it in the Premier League - no matter what he says.
