10 Players Spurs Should Regret Not Signing

1. Eden Hazard

In the 2011-12 season - the one when Spurs last finished in the top four - Belgian international Eden Hazard was on the verge of signing for the club. He actually began talks with Spurs when they were laid in third position in the table - a position that would have guaranteed them Champions League football and one that would have almost ensured Hazard signed - but Chelsea, who ended up finishing sixth in the Premier League that year, won the Champions League and Spurs ended up finishing fourth. Chelsea therefore took Spurs' position in Europe's elite competition, despite Spurs finishing in a position that would usually have seen them qualify for it. Hazard explained it like this: It€™s true that Tottenham tempted me, because it was a young team which was third in the league. Unfortunately, the end of the season did not go well. They did not reach the Champions League, which tipped the balance.€ He's still at Chelsea and is one of the top ten players in world football. He is undoubtedly one of the top three players in the Premier League and Spurs could really do with a player of that quality - especially since the departure of Gareth Bale.
