There aren't enough words to describe how dismal the signing of Nigel Quashie was for West Ham. With no real proven ability and bringing along nothing but his experience of being previously relegated - twice! - Nigel Quashie was brought in to help strengthen a club that was consciously trying to avoid relegation. It's safe to say that that isn't quite the resume you would look for in purchasing for this role. Predictably, he didn't show anything remotely close to a footballing ability in his 8 appearances for the club; none of which were on the winning side. To make the situation even worse, a persistent injury kept Quashie out of every single game in his second season for West Ham. It's bad enough losing money to pay the wages of an injured player when you need them to make an impact in the team, but when the player's very existence in the squad is questionable anyway, well...
