10 Players That Stole A Living From West Ham

6. Wayne Bridge

Wayne Bridge joined West Ham on loan from Manchester City in the 2011 January transfer window; the Hammers securing his signing by offering to pay the full amount of his £90,000 a week wages. That's right. £90,000. A hell of a lot for a club in West Ham's position. He seldom showed that the investment was a wise one, making little to absolutely no impact in the 18 appearances he made for the Hammers. Quite how he could demand a salary of such proportions is still unclear. He has rarely shown the quality of a world-class footballer - certainly not for the Hammers - and his personal antics off the field have often shadowed what footballing ability he does have; *cough*John Terry*cough*. He left at the end of the season and went on to another two unsuccessful stints on loan at both Sunderland and Brighton. He may not have spent long on the books at West Ham, but his sheer cost in wages and his consistently poor performances cement his name well and truly into this list.
