Colin Hendry is best known for his time with Blackburn Rovers where he helped the club win the Premier League against the odds, but after a total of 12 years in the North-West where he also played for Manchester City, the centre-back decided that it was time to move back to Scotland. However, while Hendry would win the domestic treble with Rangers, his time at the club was largely a disappointment. He made just 18 league starts in as many months - with the 1999-2000 season seeing Hendry feature just twice in the SPL - and it came as no surprise when he left the club in February. After his lack of first-team action and at the age of 35, his switch to Coventry City would start his time as a so-called journeyman in British football and he would make just 41 starts for three different clubs between February 2000 and May 2003, eventually finishing up with Blackpool in the second division.
