In his time at Manchester City, Samir Nasri won the Premier League and League Cup, so arguing that he should have stayed at Arsenal may seem like a strange angle. However, despite their success as a team, Nasri failed to reproduce the quality shown in the Gunners' 2010/11 season that prompted City into parting with £25 million. In his last season at Arsenal, apart from scoring 10 league goals in 30 appearances, Nasri used his exceptional dribbling and passing to run the show from midfield. Though he exhibited flashes of the brilliance for City, inconsistent form saw Nasri often fail to make the starting squad due to a deep roster of talent available. Arsenal had a talent-rich midfield of their own, but realistically was an easier proposition to make the starting team for the Gunners. His form problems combined with his apparent personal issues with Didier Deschamps meant that Nasri was shockingly omitted from France's World Club squads (exactly like the aforementioned Clichy). Showing rather less composure than the then-26-year-old attacking midfielder himself, Nasri's girlfriend Anara Atanes took to Twitter to vent her frustration: "F*** France and f*** Deschamps! What a s*** manager!".
