10 Players Who Probably Regretted Joining Arsenal

6. Samir Nasri (2008-11)

Samir Nasri won two Premier League titles and a League cup in his five seasons with Manchester City, and must surely have wished that he'd left Arsenal sooner.

The former Marseille man is considered to one of the more divisive Arsenal players in their recent history, acting petulantly to all the hatred he was receiving from supporters when it was revealed that he€ was making the £25 million move to Manchester City. Though his performance in the 2010/11 season for Arsenal was good enough to warrant this big investment from City, Nasri€'s overall career in north London wasn€'t particularly successful. For the first two seasons, he struggled to find the form that had led to the Gunners signing him from Marseille, and subsequently went unselected for France€'s 2010 FIFA World Cup squad. In hindsight, that probably came as a blessing.

Whenever City met Arsenal during his stint in the north-west, the midfielder was heavily booed by his former fans, and he probably thought it would have been better if he'd skipped the Emirates jaunt. But were his three years at Arsenal a waste, or was the wastrel Nasri himself? The dramatic decline of his career post-Man City rather suggests the latter.
