10 Players You Didn't Know Nearly Signed For Leicester City
3. Edgar Davids
The bespectacled Dutchman came so so close to strengthening Leicester's 2009/10 promotion push, the same time as when Lewandowski was rumoured to be signing and the prospect of Davids linking up with the Pole is something that all Leicester fans would have loved to witness. Having previously had a spell in England with Spurs, Davids was keen to get back into the Premier League. Leicester chairman Mandaric even said that his wage demands wouldn't be an issue but after some turgid negotiations, the deal was abandoned as Leicester perhaps underestimated what he would be demanding financially. He did eventually get his return to English football with a short spell at Crystal Palace being followed up by a player-manager role at League 2 Barnet, none of which he really made too much of an impact. Maybe one Leicester got away with after all.
