Goal technology has already reduced football punditry to mindless drivel. There's very little to discuss now that a robot can instantly tell us 'goal' or 'no goal'. There's nothing a football fan loves more than being royally screwed over on a weekly basis. It's great to watch an opponent's star striker score - despite being 30 yards offside - becauase 'it gives fans something to talk about.' And when your own striker bags a winner to relegate the opposition instead of your own team, just imagine, if he hadn't swung a punch at the ball, it may never have found the net, and you'd be the facepaint-donning fan crying into his half-and-half scarf during the end of season Match of the Day montage. As for the 'old offside' rule... Please don't change perfection. Everyone already know the rules. But there's no time to explain or clarify them for the benefit of referees everywhere.
