10 Reasons Real Madrid Are The Best Side In Europe

10. Financial Backing

Real Madrid have consistently attracted a host of the world's best players to the Spanish capital, and that would never have been possible without unparalleled financial support from the board. Club President, Florentino Perez, has managed the Real Madrid franchise very well and consistently gives his manager the financial support he needs to compete at the top level. To put Real Madrid's financial capabilities into perspective you only have to look at Forbes' list of most valuable sports clubs. At the end of the 2012/13 season, Forbes ranked Real Madrid as the most valuable sports club in the world, with a worth of $3.3 billion. The club also recorded the second highest operating income, beaten only by the Dallas Cowboys. This operating income, reported to be around $172 million allows the club to outbid any challengers in order to secure the players they want. The sheer financial power of the club is certainly a big factor in their success, allowing them to put in record bids for players such as Gareth Bale. They leave the other big clubs in their wake and are more than prepared to out-bid anyone they want in order to secure their man. Financial power is undoubtedly a requirement if clubs are to compete at the top level and this is something that Real Madrid have in copious amounts.
