7. Phantom Push, QB Sneak Super Bowl 40
He's in? The Steelers were going to win Super Bowl XL. Jerome "The Bus" Bettis, the sixth all-time leading rusher, was retiring, the super bowl was being played in his hometown of Detroit, and the Steelers were the first sixth seed to ever make it to football's biggest stage. This was a foregone conclusion. But the refs should've made it seem a little less obvious. Two plays in the game really stuck in the mind of Seahawks' fans. Early in the first-quarter, Darrel Jackson was called for pass interference, bringing back a sure touchdown. Later in the half, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's sneak into the endzone didn't really seem to make it all the way in. Fourteen points that would've definitely changed the outcome of the 21-10 victory for the Steelers, especially given Roethlisberger's poor performance in the game. The referees could've just handed the game to Pittsburgh.
