8. Paul Daley
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQM508CZ358 The firing of Paul Daley was well-justified, although it did come off as shocking. Daley was becoming one of the more popular welterweights in the world. People began to push for him to face Georges St. Pierre for the title. His boxing was outstanding and he proved to be relentless in all of his fights. His wrestling always hindered him and that was the case in his loss to Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. He was neutralized through three rounds by a wise Koscheck, who is arguably one of the best wrestlers of all-time in the division. That led to the
infamous sucker punch after the bell, which led to Daley's demise in the UFC. There is no defending his actions, especially with the punch being so blatant. The surprise come from knowing how much stock the UFC had in Daley. He had such a substantial fan base and was one of the few notable fighters from England. Besides Michael Bisping and Dan Hardy, no fighter was more beloved in England than Daley. The UFC has proven to hold two events per year in England. It's one of their most sacred international markets. While it was great to see Dana White put morals over profits, it still came off as a shock that they didn't sit down with Daley and discuss what made him commit such a heinous action.
