10 Most Shocking UFC Knockouts

4. Joe Lauzon vs. Jens Pulver - UFC 63

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqYyM4G0dUM The UFC had reinstated their lightweight division in 2006. That led to many big names coming back to the company including Jens Pulver. While his run outside of the UFC wasn't necessarily stellar (9-4 record in different companies), many people were excited to see the former champion back. He was facing newcomer Joe Lauzon, who had only been fighting in small promotions. He hadn't fought in any well-known company such as Pride like Pulver. It was his first major fight against a former world champion. That's what led to the betting odds making Pulver a 7:1 favorite. Lauzon completed a double leg takedown within the first ten seconds. Mike Goldberg stated a memorable quote that "exchanging punches with Jens Pulver may not be a wise decision". While that statement is valid from watching past Pulver fights, he would eat those words later. Lauzon had Pulver reeling from the beginning. For some reason, Pulver slipped while defending against Lauzon's jab. It was an awkward slip, which once again had him reeling. Lauzon locked in the clinch and landed a knee, before a lunging left hook finished him off. Pulver never got into a rhythm and wasn't defending himself properly. It was one of the most monumental upsets in UFC history. People couldn't believe how Pulver was soundly defeated in under a minute to an opponent, who wasn't very well-known at the time. It was the first win for the UFC mainstay, who has become one of the true fan favorites in the UFC.
