10 Sunderland Turncoats Who Played For Newcastle

1. Jack Colback

Grow up a Newcastle fan. Receive a fantastic footballing education at one of the leading academies in the country. Establish yourself as a Premier League player in a poor side. Sell said side right up and river by leaving on a free to sign for your boyhood club. Fantastic conduct by Jack Colback. His performances during the 2014/15 season has meant that all is forgotten when it comes to his part in the second 3-0 derby at St James' and that 'shushing' celebration, doesn't it? Geordie Jack made his Sunderland debut in 2008 and would go on to make over 100 appearances before joining Newcastle last summer. Many Magpies' fans were sceptical about the deal as Colback was being portrayed as the direct replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who had left for Paris Saint Germian around six months earlier. His displays for Sunderland in the eyes of Newcastle fans, coupled with rumours of a £60,000 per week pay packet, didn't make the move all that inspiring. But hasn't he proved those doubters wrong, and then some... Thirty-five appearances has seen him score four goals and consistently get a 7/10 in the paper on a Sunday morning. The midfilder, who broke into the England squad last Autumn, was one of two United players to come out of last season with any sort fo credibility (the other being Daryl Janmaat), which underlines what a stellar performer and integral cog he is in the Newcastle machine going forward.
