6. African Player Of The Year
In happier times, Adebayor was one of the finest strikers on the planet and in 2008 he was rewarded with the African Player of the Year award, beating legendary Egypt forward Mohammed Aboutrika and Michael Essien into second and third place respectively. This award should not be discounted - the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Didier Drogba and Yaya Touré were all at the peak of their powers and he beat them all.
