10 Things Joey Barton Wants You To Forget

6. The Dabo Fight

Another fight, ladies and gentlemen. This time during training in 2007. A 24-year-old Barton punched teammate Ousmane Dabo (pictured heading to court) in the face. More than once, until he was knocked out cold. Some reports, and 'thoughts', claim that Barton was defending himself. However, as much as we'd all like to see it happen, Dabo didn't once connect his fist with Barton's face, yet somehow Joey's 'thoughts' describe Dabo as 'pathetic' for going to the press. The punishment this time was a 12-match ban and £25,000 fine. This is where the article can take a pause to think. While not all of the details are known, look at the common denominator. In Barton's world, does he really believe himself to be so unlucky that he's wrapped up into these messes? Some schemers can wind people up until they crack. Others are the people who do crack and hit back. In most cases, he is both. He winds up first AND lashes out first. It's quite unbelievable. Anyway... Back to the list...
