10 Things We Learned From UFC Fight Night 46

7. Ilir Latifi Has Made The Most Of His Shot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtzXxTiTHWw One upon a time, Ilir Latifi was a last minute injury replacement in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card, and no one had any idea who he was coming into that event. A training partner of Alexander Gustafsson, Latifi found himself replacing the light heavyweight title hopeful against Gregard Mousasi at UFC on Fuel TV 9. It's not often that your first fight in the UFC is a main event, especially when you're an unknown fighter - so Latifi had a great opportunity before him. And while he lost that fight via decision, he put on enough of a show to secure a future in the UFC. Since then, Latifi has made the most of his shot, submitting Cyrille Diabate in March, and last night, knocking out Chris Dempsey at 2:07 of the first round. It was a series of quick, hard punches that did the job, and proved how dangerous Latifi can be. Now on his first UFC win streak, "The Sledgehammer" will be looking for a step up in competition next.
