3. Gunnar Nelson Needs A Chance To Move Up
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lajS5H7XNj8 Gunnar Nelson's welterweight bout with Zak Cummings saw him in danger for possibly the first time in his career on Saturday... and it didn't really matter in the end. What mattered was that, as usual, the Icelandic star took his opponent down and submitted him by way of rear-naked choke in the second round, earning himself a Performance of the Night bonus in the process. After the event was over, the idea of Nelson taking on Rory MacDonald was floated by many, including Nelson's coach. Dana White was receptive to the idea but cautious, and many questioned if MacDonald was too much too soon for Nelson - and whether the Canadian would even want the fight, given he's ranked much higher than Nelson at welterweight. It doesn't really matter in the end. If it's not MacDonald, it needs to be someone else close to him in the rankings. Nelson has four straight wins in the UFC. and is undefeated in his career. He needs the chance to move up and face a real challenge.
