10 Things Newcastle Fans Need To Know About Northampton Town

1. Cobblers' boss Chris Wilder Is Up For It

Northampton boss Chris Wilder was at Oxford United for four years before taking over at the Cobblers in 2014. The manager is excited about the prospect of playing at St James' Park and believes that anything could happen. Speaking to Northampton Town's Official Website, he said:

€œAt this stage of the competition I don€™t think it really gets any bigger than this,€ he said.

€œIt€™s a great opportunity for the players and they need to embrace the challenge, knowing that we want to go up there and do ourselves justice.

€œIt€™s a big step up for us but we don€™t want to go there just to make up the numbers, we want to make sure that we are tough, hard to beat and that we give them a competitive game.

€œThe game starts at 0-0 and there is always a chance that we can get a result but we know that things will have to fall in our lap a little bit and my players will have to play unbelievably well.

€œIt€™s an opportunity for the players to make a name for themselves and for the club. This club has got a great record in the Capital One Cup and we want to continue that.

€œEverything is stacked against us, we will need to have a lot of luck and my players will need to have the night of their life but it can happen.

€œThese things happen in football, not very often but we have to believe that it can be our night.€
