8. New Manager Feeling
https://twitter.com/BlackWhiteBarmy/status/708344608774819841 A lot of the time when managers are sacked, fans hope that their club's fortunes can change thanks to the 'new manager' boost and today's announcement is no different. While it hasn't exactly happened for us in recent years, trailing all the way back to Alan Shearer' and Iain Dowie's ill-fated spell in charge, there's a real feeling among fans that Benitez is the right calibre of manager to be able to work wonders and save us from the drop. Looking back at his record, it's clear that his presence does have a positive impact in his first 10 games at a club. With 30 points to play for, the Spaniard managed to record 18 points in that time period for Valencia, 17 for Liverpool, 19 for Inter, 18 at Chelsea, a massive 25 at Napoli and 24 at Real Madrid. Although he clearly won't have the same wealth of talent at his disposal on Tyneside, if he can get close to those kind of figures - with games against Sunderland, Norwich and Aston Villa still to play - our Premier League status should be safe for next year.
