10 Things Paul Gascoigne Wants You To Forget

6. The Italian €˜Job€™

Gascoigne left Spurs to join Lazio in 1992 and its fair to see he will want to forget his time in Italy. His Lazio career never really got started. On his first meeting with Lazio's president to discuss his big-money move to the Italian club, he was quick to tell the esteemed gentleman that he reminded him of Bud Abbott (an old American Comedian). Then during his time at the Italian club he frequently punched reporters and famoulsy he belched down a microphone on live television. He was loved by the fans, but not the club€™s owner who resented him after Gascoigne greeted him by saying "Tua figlia, grande tette" (roughly translated as "Your daughter, big tits"). His form was inconsistent at Lazio and he would be back to the UK soon enough.
