10 Things Steven Gerrard Wants Liverpool Fans To Forget

2. He Was Prone To Taking The Odd Dive

To a lot of people Gerrard grew to become the embodiment of what English football is all about. Passion, dedication, courage, belief, and most importantly sportsmanship, taking Johnny Foreigner on at our own game and beating him by playing it the proper way. But despite his lionhearted pride in fair play, Gerrard has been caught out a number of times for, shall we say, going down a little bit too easy. A hand on the shoulder, a brush on the thigh, even the penalty that hauled Liverpool back into the Champions League final didn't seem enough to bring down a man of his steely nature. An ugly consequence of modern football it might be, but Gerrard's personal stance on the subject has been that it's "ruining the game" and as such he's been quick to call out other culprits when they've been caught out. Slightly hypocritically, it could be said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1jvUjuzKn8#
