6. They Are Technically The Only Club In The City Of Manchester
Okay, not literally the only club in Manchester, but the only league club within the Manchester city limits themselves. Manchester United are based in Trafford, which is a metropolitan borough of the Greater Manchester area. Other metropolitan boroughs of Greater Manchester include Oldham, Bolton and Wigan. Funnily enough, the city of Manchester and Trafford are the only two boroughs with a weekly income that is above the national average. Manchester City play their home games at the City of Manchester stadium, which is located in eastern Manchester in an area called Sportcity. The stadium was purpose built for the Commonwealth Games in 2002, and City officially made the move their from Maine Road for the 2003/04 season.
