What does one of the greatest fighters of all time have left to prove in the sport of MMA? Nothing. So why come back? Yes, Silva can earn a lot of money - but a celebrity in Brazil even if he never caught on in the rest of the world, Silva has enough endorsement deals and past PPV payouts to live comfortably for quite some time, if he hasn't done a total Mike Tyson with his money - and there's no indication that he has. After being knocked out by Chris Weidman then suffering a horrific leg break in their rematch, all signs are pointing to a 2015 return for Silva, who says he wants to compete again, but for what reason? He has beaten challenger after challenger, and he has stated he's not looking for another shot at Weidman. At 39 years old he is at the end of his career, and while a fun fight against Nick Diaz or GSP (should he be lured out of retirement) could be a blast, there's not much reason for Silva to return, and if he suffers another loss, it's going to start looking really bad for the former middleweight champion.
