32 year old Pulev is the current EBU heavyweight champion and IBF international Heavyweight champion. Pulev was a very accomplished amateur boxer and stayed amateur throughout most of his twenties. Although his late arrival on the professional scene may have halted his progress somewhat, Pulev has looked impressive ever since his debut. Pulev fights most of his fights now over in Germany despite being Bulgarian. In the last year he has beaten the previously undefeated Alexander Ustinov and topped the IBF rankings. His career now leads him to Tony Thompson, who Pulev must see as a must win if he wants to fight a Klitschko.
