1. Make Big Fights
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7jhX_czZms Alvarez vs. Chandler 3 needs to happen, and right now, Scott Coker needs to find a way to keep Eddie Alvarez for the long term. He might even have a chance. Now, you've got Ill Will Brooks owed a title shot, Alvarez with the strap, and Chandler 0-2 of late. Give Alvarez a nice fat payday. Promise him PPV bonus money, and point out that UFC buyrates haven't been all that great of late (Bellator's initial PPV may have even outsold UFC 174, which would have been unbelievable half a year ago). Give him a fight with Will Brooks headlining a card. Feed Chandler a tune-up fight to get him back on his feet, and assuming both win - never a given, but it's likely - do Chandler vs. Alvarez 3. Meanwhile, find a few name fighters Rampage Jackson can knock out. Find a few name fighters Tito Ortiz can out-wrestle. Then pair them up like you were going to originally. Sign a couple name heavyweights for Cheick Kongo to fight - no Eric Smiths please. Sign some names, and get them in the mix. For a while, it might have to be ex-UFC cast offs, but do what you can. And once you have enough stars - make. big. fights. At the end of the day, that's what fans tune in for.
