10. Matt Mitrione's Eye

Wait, no, false alarm, that's just Matt Mitrone's eye - after it was repeatedly poked then targeted by fellow heavyweight Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz in January. Mitrione lost the fight despite starting strong as a pair of illegal eye pokes blurred his vision. The fighter soldiered on, but was not the same, especially after absorbing a couple of solid punches to the already wounded eye. Rarely do you see swelling this bad in combat sports, and it brings back memories of Mark Hominick's tumour-like hematoma from UFC 129 back in 2011. The good news is, Mitrione will be just fine when all is said and done. It required surgery for a broken orbital bone, but he's well on his way to recovery.
