10 Worst Back To Back NBA Draft Picks Of The Last 10 Years

9. Dominic McGuire Before Marc Gasol

In 2008, in what was at the time regarded as one of the worst trades ever, the Memphis Grizzlies gave away Pau Gasol and a draft pick for Kwame Brown (considered one of the biggest busts in NBA history), Javaris Crittenton, two picks and the rights to Pau's brother, Marc. That was the only time an NBA player was traded for his brother.

Marc was selected with the 48th pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Before joining the league, he decided to stay in Europe for another year, which was a really smart decision, considering that he won the award for the best player in the Spanish league that season. Now, Marc is one of the best centers in the NBA.

The problem with foreign players is that sometimes they decline to join the NBA, or just disappoint, as they are used to a different style of play. That may be why so many teams decided to pass on the younger Gasol brother. The team with the 47th pick, the Washington Wizards, settled on forward Dominic McGuire, who even started for the Wizards when they were the worst team in the Eastern Conference in the 2008-09 season.
