10 Worst Spurs Managers Of The Premier League Era

8. Juande Ramos

Having won a number of trophies at Sevilla in his native Spain - including two consecutive UEFA Cups in 2006 and 2007 - Juande Ramos joined Spurs with a big reputation and with a lot expected of him. Martin Jol started the season in charge, but Ramos took over on the 27th of October in 2007. Spurs were in the relegation zone - largely thanks to a terrible defence - and Ramos managed to lead them out of there to an eleventh placed finish by the time May of 2008 came around. In fact, Ramos masterminded Tottenham's last trophy win. In his first season at the club, they beat Chelsea 2-1 after extra time in the League Cup final, with Dimitar Berbatov and Jonathan Woodgate on target for the Lilywhites - but that doesn't take away from the fact that his next campaign started horrifically. Ramos led the club to their worst ever start to a league campaign, with the team placed bottom of the table with just two points from their opening eight matches. He was sacked on October the 27th 2008 and Harry Redknapp took over. All in all, Ramos won 10 of his 35 league games in charge at Spurs, drew 11 and lost 14.
