It's probably the latter, but it's the best invisible man impression in football. To be fair, he has finally scored at a World Cup - in the recent 2-1 defeat to Dracula's Uruguay - but this was his third World Cup and his goal was essentially meaningless, as England crashed out spectacularly in the group stage.
