11 Legendary Hardmen Who Make Modern Footballers Look Like Wimps

3. Vinnie Jones

Like Roy Keane, Vinnie Jones is a relative baby compared to some of the men on this list- in terms of age at least. Though he was never the most accomplished or decorated of players, he never left anything in the changing rooms, and was no stranger to a blockbusting tackle on occasions. He loved to fly into a challenge more than most - which often spelt trouble for the opposition. With Jones in the middle of the team, Wimbledon became one of the most revered and adored sides of the 1980s and 1990s - gaining cult status amongst football fans, and the man who would go on to become an odd addition to Hollywood was very much part of the reason the Dons were known as the 'Crazy Gang'. As an indication of Jones' style - which Paul Gascoigne's genitals know all too well - he also holds the record for fastest ever yellow card issued in the English game, at just five seconds.
