12 Newcastle Players That Should Have Been WWE Wrestlers
12. John Carver
If there's one thing that we can read into John Carver's press conference it is that he loves the sport of professional wrestling. We could also work this out from how he has conducted himself during his two spells at St James' Park. During his near 20 years of service Coach Carver has been involved in a number of scrapes with players and fans alike. During his first spell he had that infamous scrap with Craig Bellamy in an airport in front of a disgusted Sir Bobby Robson. Then during his current stint, the fans have certainly become the primary target of his considerable fury. Earlier this season he got aggressive with a number of fans holding anti-Alan Pardew paraphernalia at Southampton while he offered another couple of fans outside during the game with Swansea last month. (Of course he covered his back by claiming he wanted to personally explain why he was doing what he was doing and gave the two chaps the privilege of a meeting at the training ground.) So in a way, John Carver is the Paul Heyman of the wrestling business. The manager, or advocate, who doesn't mind getting too involved in the action from time-to-time.
