He wasn't strictly sold, but it just makes things worse that we just let him simply walk out of the door. Jack Colback will be a controversial addition to this list, but there surely isn't a Sunderland fan around who wouldn't have him ahead of Jordi Gomez, Jack Rodwell and Liam Bridcutt. Gomez improved a lot towards the end of the season, but the less we say about Liam Bridcutt's 'talent' the better. Jack Rodwell is one of the Black Cats' biggest disappointments in years, costing a whopping £10 million, yet he offered less than the consistent yet unspectacular Colback who was allowed to leave on a free transfer. It's unclear as to how the deal went down, but if Sunderland had stumped up a good enough offer, there's no doubt he'd be a very good player alongside Larsson and Cattermole. It's amusing to watch him playing out of position in a Newcaslte shirt, particularly while they're struggling, but let's face it, if Sunderland were offered him on a free, we'd take him in a heartbeat.
