This looked highly unlikely heading into the game after United shipped two goals against what are widely considered to be inferior sides in Southampton and Swansea... It looked as if Steve McClaren, in the early days of his tenure at least, hadn't been able to sort out a leaky defence that conceded league 63 goals last season. Thankfully, they proved at Old Trafford that they're a far stronger unit than they were a few short months ago. Good work, lads.
