12 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Sunderland
4. Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Sotirios Kyrgiakos arrived with a manic reputation and free-flowing hair. He wasn't expected to be graceful, nor was he expected to be the second coming of Paolo Maldini, but he was expected to do something, anything to solidify the leaky Sunderland backline. He was not a calming influence in the slightest, and featured just three times during his half season loan spell from Wolfsburg. He didn't play often enough to be classified as one of the worst Sunderland defenders, but it was probably a good thing he didn't get a chance to prove that. He departed the German side permanently upon his return, before signing for a semi-professional team in Sydney, Australia.
