12 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Sunderland
3. Teemu Tainio
Teemu Tainio was actually a very tidy footballer, but unfortunately his career for the Black Cats and his former team Spurs was ravaged by injury. He was a clean, neat-passing midfielder with a sharp tackle and really could've been an important player. However, he only made 21 appearances between 2008-2010 and that ultimately wasn't enough for the Premier League outfit to keep him around. Thankfully for the Finnish midfielder, he enjoyed a great 42-game season with New York Red Bulls in 2011/12 before moving on to HJK Helsinki for a successful spell where he ended up retiring.
