12 Players You Totally Forgot Played For Sunderland

8. Wayne Bridge

Wayne Bridge falls into the Tal Ben Haim category of not quite cutting it at the very top level before a Sunderland and West Ham-related spiral down to the pits of football. His promising career at Southampton was suffocated at Chelsea, before he moved to Manchester City. West Ham, Sunderland, and Brighton were his loan spells before finally landing a move to Reading in 2013. Those eight appearances for Sunderland were largely forgettable. He merely filled a space in the team sheet and did nothing to warrant a permanent transfer. His exit was virtually unspoken; he just disappeared.
